Friday, September 16, 2022, Issue 263: Is it sweater weather yet...Happy Friday!

I am back! it was a busy 10 days with not a lot of knitting or relaxation time but now I am ready to enjoy sweater weather but is it sweater weather yet? Maybe not quite but it is definitely time to start knitting them.

Labour Day weekend which started with family arriving on the Friday included my nephew's wedding which took place Sunday on my daughter's birthday.

My siblings minus one at my nephew’s wedding!

Here I am with four of my five siblings at my nephew’s wedding! It was a lovely outdoor venue so I am happy to say that although it was chilly out, there wasn't any rain.

Birthdays include games!!

The day after my daughter's birthday is her son (my eldest grandson)'s birthday so the birthday celebrations for family were held on the Monday. Birthdays include games!!

Except for the upper arms being a little snug, I am very happy with how my Koivua turned out! So happy that I can now wear it!

As soon as I first saw Caitlin's Koivua sweater pattern, I favourited it. I knit mine using Arranmore Light and Starke 6 and except for the upper arms being a little snug, I was very happy with how my Koivua turned out!

My sister Kim decided that she has to have the Koivua by Caitlin Hunter that my other sister Mary knit using The Fibre Co. Arranmore Light and Schoppel Wolle Starke 6. Mary is going to knit herself another one!

FOs and WIPs

I finished my (third) Rock It Tee by Tanis Lavallee.

I finished my (third) Rock It Tee by Tanis Lavallee before the end of August to showcase the Leo & Roxy yarn that I now have in the shop. I modified it so that there is a knit stitch on either side of the markers. I also decided to work my stripes every 4th row instead of every 8 this time around.

I didn’t finish my (second) Nightshift by Andrea Mowry that I brought to the Knitters’s Fair to showcase the Noro Nightshift Kits in Akari and Enka.

I didn’t finish my (second) Nightshift by Andrea Mowry that I brought to the Knitters’s Fair to showcase the Noro Nightshift Kits in Akari and Enka. This one is totally different from my first Nightshift! I am using Akari for my sample using colours 23 and 5 and 4.5 mm needles because I am a loose knitter. At the moment, I have 6.5 of the 9 sections complete.

My yoke is now on a 50 inch cable with my 4 inch tips. I was so excited when this pattern came out and I saw that some one had knit theirs with their hand spun that I am using my hand spun for this one too! I should have spun enough for my contrast colours but I still need to spin a lot more of my main colour.
