With some sunshine for a change in the last few days and the still cold sweater weather that we have been having, a cozy sweater, shawl or socks make the best projects to reach for but it would be fun to cast on a Valentine's project!
Knit in the round, Caitlin Hunter's Cold Heart Hat features corrugated ribbing, sweet heart motifs and fun, slightly pointy shaping for when you’re feeling particularly jaunty. It can also be pulled down around the ears for a standard beanie fit. The pattern is written for 3 sizes, child, and adult short and tall versions. There are also 2 versions of the charts with reversed colours for easier knitting.
SIZES: Child (Adult short, adult tall)
Circumference: 16 (20, 20)“ 40.5 (51, 51) cm
Height: 6.5, (8.25, 10)” 16.5 (21, 25.5 cm
YARDAGE: Please note that yardage is estimated, and can vary between knitters.

Join the Spring 2024 Malabrigo KAL which starts on March 1st.
This edition of the Malabrigo KAL features an amazing shawl designed by Jill from Knit Sisu.

Web/Blog: https://knitsisu.com/
This beautiful pattern takes 3 Dos Tierras skeins and according to the designer, it’s easy to fall into the movement of the stitches in this project as it is very meditative and structured. The garter sections fly by and the lace sections keep knitters engaged without being too reliant on the written pattern.
This fun boomerang shaped shawl will be knit using Malabrigo Dos Tierras, a 50/50 blend of alpaca and merino with a nice, tight twist. While the designer, Jill Tamminen, chose 3 distinct colors of this squishy yarn, the design is so fluid that each knitter can choose between 1, 2, or 3 colors depending on their desires. This Knit Along is inspired by friendships, so feel free to select colors for your bestie and gift the shawl for a late spring break gift.
To Join the KAL, please click here to join through the official Malabrigo link to post your progress, get the pattern, and win prizes! Remember, the shawl must be knit in Dos Tierras to win any of the prizes. The Gardener’s Prayer Hat by Yamagara that I am working on is blocking before I embroider the flower details.
I think that the top of the hat looks just as beat as the rest of it, don't you?
I started my matching Gardener’s Prayer Handwarmers by Yamagara. I should have enough left from my hat to make these.
I started the shop sample for the Malabrigo KAL! For mine I am using Malabrigo Dos Tierras in Pearl, Plomo and Fairy Tale.
